Hot Springs Elementary School made a $890 donation to the Battle Mountain Human Society Monday afternoon, April 4, 2016. To raise the money, students – school-wide – dressed up every Thursday during February; some as a favorite shape, some just silly during a “crazy day” dress-up. Each time they did this, they brought money to donate to the cause. Students raised $445 doing this, and the student council matched this amount to accomplish the $890 total donation. Accepting the check from the elementary school was BMHS’s Michelle Brock and “Cap,” a 175-pound St. Bernard, a former BMHS rescue who now lives with a loving local family. Giving the check to BMHS was 4th Grade Teacher Kristi Dunbar and her students. By John D. Taylor. Hot Springs Star
